The Anchor Trap
Anchoring bias in numeric estimation
The Concept
Anchoring is the tendency to rely too heavily on the first piece of information offered (the 'anchor') when making decisions, even when that anchor is irrelevant.
The Science
Anchoring works through 'insufficient adjustment': we start from the anchor and adjust, but stop too early. It persists even when people know the anchor is random.
You'll face 1 decision. There are no right answers shown in advance — choose as you genuinely would. Your responses build your Decision DNA.
